Barnet Council approves Brent Cross Regeneration

How the Brent Cross Cricklewood development will look.

Barnet Council has approved controversial plans over the Brent Cross Regeneration project despite opposition from local residents, according to This Is Local London news.

The £4 billion scheme, across Brent Cross and Cricklewood, was given planning permission three year ago. However, amendments to the existing application by developers Hammerson and Standard Life sparked a second meeting.

The developers behind the controversial Brent Cross Cricklewood regeneration project have released two images today of how the complex may look.

The plans will now go on public display for feedback before being finalised and submitted to Barnet Council later this year as an amendment to the current outline planning permission granted in 2010. The exhibition will be open until July 6.

Appeal after 'smash and grab' robbery

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information following a 'smash and grab' robbery at a north London shopping centre.

Police were called shortly after 10.15am on Tuesday 6th November, to reports of a robbery at Fraser Hart jewellers, inside Brent Cross Shopping Centre.

Officers attended. It is understood that six suspects travelling on three motorbikes, pulled up at the entrance next to New Look. Armed with what appears to be axes and bats, three pillion passengers got off the bikes and ran on foot towards the ground floor jewellery store.

They then smashed glass windows displaying watches and jewellery - some of which were stolen.

The three men then fled back to their awaiting motorbikes and drivers and drove in the direction of Hendon Central.

The motorbikes were found abandoned 15 minutes later on Ashley Walk in Mill Hill.
