Tributes have been paid to a driver from London who has died while taking part in a classic car race. Christian Devereux from Chiswick was killed in an accident at Donington Park in Leicestershire yesterday. Michael Sibert reports.
A racing driver from Chiswick has died after a crash during a race at the Donington Park circuit in Leicestershire. Christian Devereux was driving a Mini Cooper at a festival for historic cars when it collided with a Ford Mustang.
The race was halted while emergency services rushed to treat him but Mr Devereux died from his injuries.

"It is with great regret that the directors of Donington Park Racing Limited, operators of Donington Park Circuit, have to report that, following an accident in a race for historic touring cars held as part of the race meeting taking place on Sunday 5th May, the driver of car number 67 (a 1965 Mini Cooper S), Christian Devereux of Chiswick, London succumbed to the injuries sustained at approximately 16.30 hours."
The park authorities have also said they will now work with Leicestershire Police and the Motor Sports Association to establish why the crash happened.
