Clipper round-the-world teams will take part in one of the world's most famous yacht races starting today, during leg 6 of their mammoth global journey.

Clipper Race teams set off from St Katharine Docks in September

The Rolex Sydney Hobart yacht race covers 628 nautical miles - and if last year's record is to be beaten the winning team must complete the distance in less than one day, 18 hours, 23 minutes and 12 seconds.

Clipper teams set off from London's St Katharine Docks in September and will return there to finish the race. ITV London's Chris Paxton is taking part on board the yacht Switzerland - you can follow his progress here.

London woman injured during Clipper Race

A British woman is to be evacuated from the Clipper round the world yacht race after being injured during a violent storm.

Michelle Porter, 36, from London, suffered a suspected broken arm as the fleet struggled to cope with the conditions.

She was one of two crew members hurt as hurricane-force winds caused havoc in the Indian Ocean. She will be taken to a hospital in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, for treatment. Her yacht, Derry-Londonderry-Doire, was hit by a wave which knocked it sideways.
