Charities using recycling banks for clothes are fighting proposals which could see them kicked off their sites. 17 London councils are now planning to push charities out and replace their bins with ones run by private companies so they can charge rent for the sites.
Phil Bayles reports.
Council plans to charge charities to use clothing recycling banks have been criticised.
The Charity Retail Association said London charities income could be cut by £3.2 million if the proposals go through.
Under the new plans charities, who currently use the banks for free, would compete against private firms to use the banks.
