Valuable puppy stolen in Waltham Forest robbery

Police in Waltham Forest are searching for three men who stole a four month-old bulldog puppy worth £2000 after pretending to be police officers.

The robbery happened just after midnight on January 17th at a house in Church Road. After an occupant opened the door to the men, the trio attacked her. They also punched another woman who was also in the house.

Apart from the dog, the robbers took two mobile phones and a laptop. Anyone with information is asked to call Waltham Forest Police on 020 8721 5042 or they can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.


Animal charity search for owners of injured dog

The Blue Cross charity is trying to trace the owners of a Saluki purebreed dog which was found badly injured in a street in Wimbledon on Sunday. It is believed the dog may have been hit by a car. He is currently being treated at the charity's animal hospital in Victoria.

Nigel Smith, surgeon at the animal hospital, said: “He is still very shaken and disorientated, but despite his ordeal he has remained friendly and placid. We will operate on him to fix a complicated fracture to his front leg, and hope that over time he’ll be able to resume a normal active life."
