U.S. Olympic Team donates to London kids' charity
The United States Olympic Team has thanked Great Britain for its generosity and hospitality during the Olympic Games by making a donation to the children's charity Kids Company.
The U.S team donated £100 for each of the 104 medals it won at London 2012.
Olympic beach volleyball silver medallists, Jen Kessy and April Ross presented a £10,400 check to the organization.
“The atmosphere in London has been incredible,” said Kessy. “Everyone has been so friendly and supportive; it has made our first Olympic experience unforgettable.”
“We are truly grateful to be part of such a wonderful campaign,” said Ross. “After visiting Kids Company and learning about all the things they do for children, it’s touching to know that we were able to contribute to such a great cause by winning a medal for Team USA.”
