Man hit by a train during police pursuit is named

A man killed after being hit by a train while being chased by police has been named as Devante Keane from Essex. The 20-year-old was stopped by officers in Willesden Green who wanted to search him for drugs.

Devante Keane ran off into nearby gardens, climbed over a fence and onto the railway line. He was then hit by a train near Dartmouth Road.

Man 'pursued' by police before rail death

Detectives have tonight confirmed a man was stopped by police before he was hit by a train. Officers suspected he may have been carrying drugs. He made off a short while later, sparking a police search in Willesden.

The man, believed to be in his 20s, was hit by a train on the line near Dartmouth Road around 40 minutes later. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police confirm man hit by train

The British Transport Police has released this statement after a man was hit by a train this afternoon:

“BTP officers were called to the line close to Chatsworth Road in Brondesbury following a report that a man had been hit by a train.

“Metropolitan Police officers also attended, alongside medics from the London Ambulanc eService, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The incident was reported at 4.39pm and is currently being treated as non-suspicious.

“Officers are currently working to identify the man and inform his family.

“A file will be prepared for the Coroner.”

No train services to and from Marylebone station

There are no trains to and from Marylebone until further notice. Police are investigating after someone was hit by a train.

Another attempted robbery linked with Blair attack

The incident involving Katherine Blair is being linked with another attempted robbery nearby half-an-hour earlier. Met Police say: "On both occasions a firearm was seen but not used - no shots were fired. "None of the victims were injured and nothing was stolen during the incidents."

Tony Blair's daughter was held up at gunpoint by two men during an attempted robbery on Monday evening.

Kathryn Blair, 25, was not hurt in the incident as she walked down a central London street with her boyfriend and a group of friends.

Scotland Yard confirmed an incident involving two male suspects with a gun took place in Ivor Place, Marylebone, at 8.30pm on Monday night.

The Blair family were seen at the wedding of Euan Blair last weekend.

Snatched in a second: CCTV shows speed of theft

Londoners are warned all the time to beware of thieves who target expensive mobiles, tablets and laptops - and these men found out to their cost exactly why.

Enjoying a meal outside in Marylebone, they became a victim of an audacious snatch and grab.

A man in motorcycle gear walked calmly up to their table, and lifted a laptop from under their noses. They attempted to give chase, but the thief speed off on a motor scooter with a nearby accomplice.
