Crowds expected at War veteran's funeral

Harold Jellicoe Percival, originally from Penge, South London

Hundreds of people are expected to attend the funeral of a war veteran who grew up in south London, after it emerged he died with no close friends or relatives.

Harold Jellicoe Percival, a distant relative of Spencer Perceval - the only British prime minister to be assassinated - helped with the famous Dambusters raids during the Second World War.

He died last month and his funeral will be held tomorrow, on Armistice Day.

Mr Percival lived in Penge, London, before he joined the RAF and was posted to the North West. He died in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire, where the service will take place tomorrow.
