Portraits of the Queen
Formal paintings, portraits and press images of the Queen will go on public display in London, to mark her Diamond Jubilee.
One of the greatest royal portraits of the twentieth century, Pietro Annigonis 1954-5 painting of The Queen will be shown at the National Portrait Gallery from tomorrow.
It will be shown on the same wall as the artists second celebrated full-length portrait of The Queen commissioned by the Gallery in 1969. It will be the first time the two portraits will have been seen together for over a quarter of a century - and only the second time ever.
