Surrey Police has been called to an East Surrey Hospital following the unexplained death of a man. Officers were called to the hospital in Redhill just before 5pm this evening after a man in his 70s was found collapsed in the car park.
He was taken into the Accident and Emergency department where he later died. An investigation is underway to determine if the elderly man was struck by a vehicle prior to his death.
A man has died at an aerodrome after the aircraft he was piloting crashed.
His plane ditched at the end of the runway at Redhill Aerodrome in Surrey, and was left wrecked. Emergency service swere called to the scene around 12.30pm but were unable to save the man from his injuries.
The cause of the crash has not been determined, but eyewitnesses said they thought the engine may have cut out.
Apolice spokesman said: "Officers and other emergency services attended thescene where the sole occupant of the aircraft had suffered serious injuries.
"He was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
"Police are currently liaising with the Air Accidents Investigation Branch regarding the incident."
