First homes in East Village 'being handed over'

Firstly, we are very sorry that some residents have been delayed in being able to move into their homes.

We are delighted that the first homes in East Village are now being handed over to Triathlon Homes and this means that we are able to begin the major process of moving hundreds of residents in over the next few days and weeks.

We have an experienced team on standby in readiness for this great news and they will now doing everything possible to welcome residents into their new homes.

Olympic village homes to be handed over tomorrow

The Olympic Delivery Authority says it will finally hand over 214 of the Olympic village homes to Triathlon tomorrow.

The handover to Triathlon Homes of their apartments and townhouses in the first part of East Village to be completed will take place tomorrow.

Building on the 129 market rental properties that have already been finished, this now brings the total number of homes handed over in the first two residential areas to 401, including 214 for Triathlon Homes.

We fully appreciate how frustrating these delays have been for families keen to move in to their new homes and regret this inconvenience, but we are pleased to have some good news for them today. East Village is a huge development with an unusually complex process for approving and handing over properties, involving multiple stakeholders, and which has taken longer than envisaged.

We have set the bar high in terms of quality inside and outside the 2,818 new homes, so we can be confident people will have a great experience living in East Village and that this will be an important part of the legacy of London 2012.
