National Grid has confirmed that the gas main in Southall has now been capped and they have given London Fire Brigade the all clear to re-open the road. The affected main was a pipe into a disused building.
Police are renewing their appeal for information to help find a missing 15-year-old.
Simran Edwin was last seen outside her home in Southall at 11pm on Friday. She isn't believed to have her phone with her, or any money.

Police have formally identified the man stabbed to death at a fairground in Southall. 23-year-old Surjeet Singh died after a fight broke out at the fair on Monday. Seven men have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
A post-mortem examination on Tuesday gave the cause of death as a single stab wound to the neck.
Detective Chief Inspector Russell Taylor, leading the investigation, said: "We still want to hear from people who can help us piece together the events that led up to this murder."
Police investigating the murder of man in Southall have formally identified the victim as 23-year-old Surjeet Singh. Next of kin have been informed.
Mr Singh was stabbed in the neck during the large fight at a fairground in Southall Park on Monday.
London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance were called to the scene and treated Surjeet, however he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Seven men have been bailed to return on a date in late August.

"This was a large fight at a fairground in Southall Park and many people would have witnessed the attack as well as the aftermath.
"I would urge those people to contact officers so that we can piece together the events that lead up to this murder."
