A swan trying to find its way to the nearest watering hole, found itself dicing with death . The bird had some near misses with cars as it crossed several lanes of traffic on the M25 earlier. Luckily the Highways Agency were around to give the bird a helping hand.
There are now thought to have been up to 100 swans rescued from the River Thames after the unexplained oil spillage in Eaton.
Eighty swans have been removed from the River Thames due to a mystery oil spill.
Thames Water was called out at 10:30pm last night to the stretch of river between Windsor Bridge and Eton Bridge.
They are having the oil removed by Swan Lifeline but any oil swallowed may damage internal organs.
The Environment Agency, with assistance from Thames Water, is investigating the source of the spillage but said it is "quite unlikely" they will find the source due to most of the oil having dispersed leaving just isolated pockets.
