Queen is all smiles after Duke's discharge

The Queen was all smiles today as she took part in the historic Garter Day service on the day the Duke of Edinburgh was discharged from hospital.

Duke of Edinburgh recovering in London clinic

The Duke of Edinburgh remains in hospital for a third day and is said to be "progressing satisfactorily" as he recovers following exploratory abdominal surgery.

Philip was operated on yesterday after being admitted to the private London Clinic on Thursday evening after appearing at a garden party at Buckingham Palace.

The Duke, who is 92 on Monday, was said to be "comfortable" last night. He is expected to be in hospital for up to two weeks while he recuperates.

Ruler Of The World wins Epsom Derby

Ruler Of The World provided Aidan O'Brien with a fourth Investec Derby and maintained his unbeaten record under Ryan Moore at Epsom - with favourite Dawn Approach well beaten.

Dawn Approach failed to settle from very early on and Kevin Manning felt he had no option but to take up the running on the approach to Tattenham Corner, with the writing being on the wall some way out.
