Striker Loic Remy was finally unveiled at QPR after signing from Marseille. Manager Harry Redknapp said he had been pursuing the French international for some time.

Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger has said he is "looking" at young Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha but is yet to make a bid for him. Manchester United are also rumoured to be interested in the 20 year-old but Wenger said he did not know if that was true.

QPR have completed the signing of French striker Loic Remy from Marseille for a club record fee. Thought the exact amount has not been disclosed, Remy has agreed a four-and-a-half year deal.

Manager Harry Redknapp told QPR's website: “I’m delighted to bring him in – he’s a great buy for us. I didn’t think we’d get him to be honest but Tony Fernandes worked ever so hard on this. He wouldn’t give up on it, and it’s great that we now have him here with us."

West Ham have taken the Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh on loan until the end of the season. The Moroccan international has struggled to get in the first team at the Emirates and told West Ham's website: "I think this will be a very important move for me and I don't want to waste any more time."

Joe Cole said it was "surreal" to be returning to West Ham, ten years after he left the club. The midfielder has agreed an 18-month contract with the Hammers and said: "It is great to be back where I started and very surreal, walking out on pitches where I played when I was at under-13s."

Cole left the Hammers in 2003 just after they had been relegated to the Championship. "You want to come back and put things right," he said. "It is all about the club moving on, to consolidate in the Premier League, that is the main goal. The way they have played is brilliant."

Cole played at the last World Cup and hopes to get back in the England squad: "I need to get playing first, and probably will need three or four matches to get back to top level. I will always harbour those ambitions because I love playing for my country, but it will be down to performance."

Tottenham have agreed to sign the German international Lewis Holtby from the Bundesliga side Schalke, subject to a medical. However, he won't move to White Hart Lane until July.

Holtby, who has an English father, has three caps for the German senior side.

Chelsea have completed the signing of striker Demba Ba from Newcastle. The Senegal international has had an impressive 18 months in the North-East and has now signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Blues.

Ba told Chelsea's website: "When the club who won the Champions League wants you, the decision is very easy. This club is massive and that's something that helped the decision a lot. It was not a hard one."

Another player on the move is former England international Joe Cole who has returned to West Ham from Liverpool. Cole began his career at the Hammers and said: "It is great to be back where I started and very surreal, walking out on pitches where I played when I was at under-13s."

West Ham have announced that they have signed the Republic of Ireland's Under-19 striker Sean Maguire from Waterford United on a two-and-a-half-year contract. The 18 year-old was the joint top scorer in the League of Ireland First Division last year with 13 goals.

Tottenham have announced that they have signed Zeki Fryers from the Belgian club Standard Liege. The defender has been capped by England at Under-19 level after starting his career at Manchester United.
