Is the Met letting down London's victims of crime? According to you it is.
The force has come bottom of a victim satisfaction survey across England and Wales, and rates more than 10 percent lower than big city forces in Birmingham and Manchester.
Here are the figures showing how different London boroughs fared in the latest police user satisfaction survey. They are for the period from Apr 2011 to March 2012. The Met's overall figure was 74%.
The Met Police has said it is taking action to deal with criticism of the way it treats victims of crime. It has launched a new approach to ensure it handles victims better. A London Assembly report highlighted a survey that showed the Met scored poorly on victim satisfaction.
"We launched our Total Victim Care strategy in April 2012 with a renewed focus on improving the service victims of crime get in London. Since then we have seen a 3% increase in victim satisfaction with over three-quarters (77%) of victims satisfied with the service they receive from the Met. Victim focus will remain a priority and we will continue rolling out proactive initiatives, such as offering all victims of crime a visit from a police officer, which has so far resulted in an additional 9,500 visits."
