Teenage brothers jailed for assaulting a ticket inspector

Two teenage brothers have been jailed over the stabbing of a ticket inspector on a train.

A judge at Basildon Crown Court lifted reporting restrictions so 17-year-old Robert Culley, who pleaded guilty to wounding and possessing a knife, could be named.

His brother, 19-year-old Charles Culley, pleaded guilty to common assault.

The youths were travelling without tickets on the 8.20pm train from Southend to London on December 18, last year, when they were stopped by ticket inspectors. One inspector was punched in the face.

Robert Culley stabbed the other under his arm. The inspector needed stitches for the wound.

Both youths, who are from Tilbury, recieived four month detention orders.
