Schoolboy faces stab murder trial

A teenager faces trial today for murdering a 14-year-old boy on a sports field.

Aylward Academy pupil Leroy James was stabbed to death after a clash between a large number of youths at Ponders End recreation ground in Enfield, north London, on August 17 last year.

Leroy, from Edmonton, was found slumped against a wall in a pool of blood at the park. He died from a single stab wound.

At the Old Bailey, 15-year-old youth denies murder and having an offensive weapon. He was 14 at the time of the attack.
