Man stabbed with samurai sword in Newham

A 65-year-old man has been stabbed inside his home on Barking Road following a burglary. In the early hours of morning on Saturday 9th June, the man woke up after hearing noises outside his bedroom window.

The pensioner saw three youths in his front garden. He shouted at them to leave.

He then took a sword that he had on display in his living room and returned to a window and waved it at the youths. Moments later he returned to look out of his bedroom window and saw no-one outside. He then walked out of his bedroom to find the youths standing on his landing.

He shouted at them to leave again, but one of them used a samurai sword to stab him before running off. Police want anyone with information to get in touch.
