Firefighters in strike time warning

Striking firefighters have warned that fire chiefs risk undermining talks - after it emerged they will be forced out of bed at 4am tomorrow morning.

Members of the Fire Brigades Union in Essex are due to hold their second of five planned strikes between 4am and 5am in a dispute over a cuts.

They have been told that despite the anti-social hour and forecasts of heavy rain, they will be forced to leave their stations or be deemed to be trespassers.

A spokesman for the Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said it was simply looking to enforce regulations.
