Surrey woman steps off plane to freedom

A Surrey woman is recovering after being kidnapped at gunpoint in South America. Kathryn Cox, a 23-year-old accountant from Surrey, was snatched as she was canoeing in Ecuador.

She and another hostage were abandoned, when their kidnappers realised that military rescuers were closing in on them. This report from Ronke Phillips.

Kidnapped tourist rescued

A woman from Surrey has been rescued after she was kidnapped during a canoe trip in Ecuador. Kathryn Cox, who's 29 and from Limpsfield, was travelling with a tour group through the Cuyabeno nature reserve in the Tarapoa region.
