An inquest into the death of a young man who was killed by a piece of falling masonry as he walked past a French restaurant in south London is due to begin today.
Peter Westropp, 27, was struck as he walked along Battersea Rise in Battersea on August 10 last year. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Eyewitnesses said he was killed after an awning collapsed at Le Bouchon Bordelais, a French restaurant and bar.
The inquest, which is being held at North Westminster Coroner's Court in Marylebone, is expected to last five days.
