The Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Eric Pickles MP, is launching a new pilot scholarship at the University of West London (formerly known as Thames Valley University), for students and chefs wanting to study Asian cuisine.
The four scholarships, worth £3,750 each, will see students have the opportunity to undertake placements at high end south Asian restaurants, and be mentored by some of the most talented chefs in the Asian sector.
The scholarship programme is supported by Lord Noon of Noon Products Ltd and other high profile figures in the Asian food industry. Students at the university's London School of Hospitality and Tourism will be showing off their culinary skills to the guests at the launch event.
