Conservative MP Richard Ottaway has announced he'll stand down from Parliament at the next general election.

He's been MP for Croydon South - a Tory safe seat - since 1992. The announcement is likely to heighten speculation that London mayor Boris Johnson could put himself forward as a candidate for the seat in a bid to return to the Commons.
