Brian Coleman in court for assault

Totteridge councillor Brian Coleman has appeared in court charged with common assault. It's alleged he attacked a campaigner who helped to get him removed from City Hall.

The Barnet councillor, who spent four years running the London fire brigade for Boris Johnson, denied the charge in court this morning.

He also pleaded not guilty to a motoring offence.
