The new Croydon North MP Steve Reed took his seat in the Commons.

The polls was sparked after the deaths of long-serving incumbent Malcolm Wicks.

Steve Reed took his oath of allegiance backed by his new colleagues in the Commons chamber.

He is expected to make his maiden speech in the coming weeks.
