New figures show that homeowners in London face the highest risk of repossession in the country. A report by the homeless charity Shelter found repossession rates are twice as high in the capital compared to the national average.
Barking and Dagenham has more than three times as many repossession claims as the rest of the country, affecting one in every 37 homes.

The London boroughs of Southwark, Westminster, Lambeth, Hackney and the City of London were all found to be lagging behind.
