New video: smokehouse threatened with closure

Customers have been going to London's oldest fish smokehouse for more than a century. 133 years.

But now, after a single complaint to the council, Walter Purkis and Sons's smokehouse is closed.

So what hope of this piece of history being re-opened? Sharon Thomas has the story.

Well we've heard an update from the Council tonight in response to that story.. A spokseperson said:

"It has now been agreed that Mr Purkis will re-open the smokehouse and we will support Mr Purkis over the coming months to help him upgrade the smokehouse equipment."
