London house prices rise
Latest figures show that London is the only place in the country where house prices are rising. Property analysts Hometrack reported a 0.3% increase in January compared to the previous month.
Four out of five estate agents are more optimistic about the market this spring than they were a year ago.
Compared with a year ago, the average percentage of the asking price achieved has risen in all regions but two - the East Midlands and the North West.
