Tottenham wait on Adebayor fitness test

Spurs will have to wait on the results of a late fitness test before deciding if they can use Emmanuel Adebayor's services to ease their striking problems.

The Togoan international could slot straight back in to the starting line-up for tomorrow's Barclays Premier League clash against Newcastle at White Hart Lane.

He has been at the African Nations Cup for almost a month, but manager Andre Villas-Boas hopes he will come through today's training session as his only other recognised striker Jermain Defoe is out with an ankle injury.
