Missing backpacker found alive in Australia

A backpacker from Richmond in South West London who was missing in the Australian Outback for more than three days has been found safe and well. Samuel Woodhead, 18, disappeared from a cattle station in Queensland on Tuesday when he went for a jog.

A Queensland Police spokesman said Mr Woodhead was a little sunburned when he was found, but was hydrated and otherwise well. His family, who spoke of their concern to ITV News London yesterday, has been told.


Backpacker leaves hospital

The Richmond teenager, who went missing in the Australian outback for three days, has thanked his rescuers after being released from hospital.
