Cricketer's death inquest continues

A cricketer who died on a Tube line as he tried to run away from police was high on drink and drugs.

An inquest has heard that Tom Maynard was nearly four times the legal alcohol limit to drive and had also taken cocaine and ecstasy.

The 23-year-old, who was tipped to be an England international, was found dead near Wimbledon Park Station in June last year.

Cricketer death ruled accidental

An inquest at Westminster Coroner's Court has returned a verdict of accidental death in the case of Cardiff-born cricketer Tom Maynard. Earlier it heard he was over the drink driving limit and tests suggest he may have used cocaine and ecstasy.
