Police appeal for witnesses following a collision in Lambeth

Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Lambeth.

At around 7:45pm last night a blue Mini was in collision with a pedestrian on Poynders Road close to Clarence Avenue, SW4.

The driver failed to stop at the scene.

The man, aged in his 40s, was taken to a south London hospital with head injuries. He remains in a serious condition.

The vehicle was located later that evening in Helby Road, SW4 and a 30-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

Officers would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the Mini after the incident, particularly when it was parked.Anyone with information is asked to contact the Road Death Investigation Unit at Hampton on 020 8941 9011.
