The Arsenal Ladies defender Faye White has announced her retirement from playing football because of knee problems. White was one of the leading figures in the English game, winning 90 England caps and captaining the team at four major tournaments.
She ended her international career last year because she was pregnant but has now decided to bring her Arsenal playing career to an end as well. She will continue working at the club as part of their marketing team.
