A booklet of statistics about the UK's car ownership has found that people in London and the South East own the most cars.
There are now more than 31 million cars on UK roads, with London and the South East accounting for 9.79 million of them.
To the surprise of very few, open-top cars were most prevalent in Kensington and Chelsea.
Of the 2,044,609 new-car registrations in 2012, more than 632,000 were in London and south east.
The most fuel-efficient town in the UK is Slough in Berkshire, with the average car there topping 50mpg, thanks to more than 60% of its motors being diesel-powered.
