A group of cheerleaders from Southend are launching a campaign to get young women back into sport.
They say many give up at 16 because of the embarrassments and preoccupations of being a teenager.
Sport England say girls are more likely than boys to drop physical education once they leave school- just 30% of female university students currently playing sport regularly.
