Boris Johnson will visit the Lyric Hammersmith today to see how £1m of funding from the GLA is being spent.
The funding is an investment into the theatre's education programme through which the Lyric trains and supports young people in theatre and the arts.
During today's visit he'll sit in on a dress rehearsal by the young cast of 'Mobile Phone Show' by award-winning playwright Jim Cartwright, as well as taking a tour of the theatre.
The Mayor's contribution is part of the wider redevelopment of the Lyric which will see the building get its first major facelift in 30 years.
