Murder investigation launched after fatal Deptford fire

A murder investigation has been launched after a fire killed an elderly woman in her flat on Deptford High Street yesterday.

82-year-old Giuseppina Fazzani died at the scene.

A 55-year-old woman was rescued from the upper floor by the London Fire Brigade and treated for smoke inhalation. She has since been discharged from hospital.
