A 52-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of an 11-year-old girl from Bushey in Hertfordshire.
Police have launched an investigation after schoolgirl Rebecca Thompson was found at her home address just after midday on 22nd June.
The arrested man, who is from Bushey, is currently receiving treatment in hospital for serious injuries sustained in a road accident, which police say happened around 12.15am on 22nd June at Elstree Hill roundabout.
The scene around the property has been sealed off while police gather evidence and carry out inquiries. Hertfordshire Police say the arrested man will be interviewed when he is deemed medically fit.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the accident involving a grey VW Golf registration number OV61 NVK or saw the car before.
A post-mortem examination is due to take place on the 25th June.
