– A spokesperson for NHS England’s London office
We don't recognise the bleak picture painted in this report. We know there is a lot to do to ensure the NHS delivers the best care for everyLondoner but we are very positive about the impact clinicians will have inshaping services. The government has asked more GPs to have greater control ofthe NHS system, and in just three months since the new arrangements came intoeffect, we are seeing really positive change, such as the formation of JointCommissioning Boards in London. These are very similar to what the King’sFund calls for in the report.
A health watch-dog says that London's NHS services are in urgent need of change. The report published by the The King's Fund highlights that four out of the five most financially challenged NHS trusts in England are located in the capital.
