Laura Robson will play world number 71 Marina Erakovic from New Zealand in the third round at Wimbledon today.
The British number one overcame nerves yesterday to defeat Colombia’s Mariana Duque-Marino
Robson overcame a tense opening set to take the match 6-4, 6-1.
Robson said yesterday she was overwhelmed by the attention.
“I’m still very awkward when I wave to them, because I haven’t decided what I want to do,” she said, smiling. “Sharapova blows kisses. It’s something I need to work on.”
British boy band One Direction, who have a combined Twitter following of 56 million, have been keeping an eye on Robson's progress during Wimbledon.
On Thursday night, two band members - Harry Styles and Liam Payne - wished the 19-year-old good luck for yesterday's match via the social networking site.
Robson's Twitter following has mushroomed since she received the tweets.
