A man's being treated in hospital, after being shot by police in Walthamstow.
Officers were called out to Hale End Road, at around 8:15pm, following reports that a man had been seen carrying a handgun.
Shots were fired at the man by police officers. First aid was provided at the scene before the London Ambulance Service arrived.
The Met's Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed and the IPCC will also be notified as a matter of course.
