A police officer is being treated in hospital after a chemical substance was thrown in his face in South London. The officer had stopped a man on a moped in Battersea yesterday afternoon when the suspect sprayed the substance into his face before fleeing.

Two members of the public were injured along with two police officers who were in the unmarked vehicle.
