21 year old Daniel James Smith from Salford in Lancashire has been charged with criminal damage to the Bomber Command memorial on Park Lane, in June.

The unemployed man will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court tomorrow morning, 1 November.

The memorial, which was created to remember the thousands of RAF crew who lost their lives in the Second World War, was vandalised twice in just over a week following the murder of Drummer Rigby in Woolwich, south east London, on May 22.
