Union leaders have warned against plans to privatise visitor services at the Imperial War Museum.

The Public and Commercial Services union said a decision is due this week on whether to press ahead with a multimillion-pound sell-off.

If a deal goes through, a new company would take over in April, just two months before the Lambeth-based war museum is due to open new galleries. The PCS said it feared handing visitor services and security to a profit-making company will lead to cuts in jobs and standards.
