A woman had an unexpected arrival after she gave birth at Heathrow Airport. Ragina Hamisi went into labour moments after she stepped off a flight from Kenya. The mum, from Barking, was not due to give birth until January 4, but a family emergency forced her to travel to Africa.
But as she got off the plane she realised the baby was coming and airport workers helped her into a toilet in the arrivals area. The 33-year-old gave birth to a healthy 6lbs 4oz as-yet unnamed baby girl. The mum-of-three said:
"All that I remember after getting off the plane is a medic and being in the toilet. I delivered my baby right there on the bathroom floor."
