Two homophobic attacks in five days has highlighted a worrying rise in gay hate crime in London.
- A 23-year-old fashion journalist was left unconscious after he and his partner were beaten up at a cashpoint in Whitechapel ten days ago
- Just days earlier another 23-year-old was sprayed with ammonia outside a gay nightclub in Vauxhall
- Scotland Yard figures show a 7% increase in homophobic attacks in London in the last year
- The number of crimes rose from 1,106 to 1,185
