Binge drinkers face new sobriety tag

Binge drinkers in four London boroughs could soon been given sobriety ankle tags if they continue to commit offences while under the influence of alcohol.

The pilot, in Croydon, Lambeth, Southwark and Sutton, is the first of its kind and will be used to monitor the alcohol consumption of offenders.

If their behaviour persists they will be brought back before the courts.
