Police arrested two people and recovered three large knives after a fight broke out at house party in Dagenham.

Somewhere between 200 and 300 people were at the gathering in Oxlow Lane. Police were called shortly after 11pm yesterday after reports of a large fight in the street.

Two youths were arrested at the scene. A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon. A 15-year old boy was arrested for assaulting police.

Officers also recovered three large knives, scissors and a quantity of cannabis.

The teenagers were taken to an east London police station where they are being questioned. No injuries have been reported.

Police dispersed the crowd after the incident.

Three large knives were recovered by my officers today as they worked to disperse a very large and unpredictable crowd following a private house party. By getting these knives off the street when they did, my officers have helped save lives and prevent another needless tragedy.
