Mandy: phone was tapped

Former Cabinet Minister Lord Mandelson has become the latest Labour politician to indicate that his phone may have been hacked into by tabloid journalists.

The report in the Independent on Sunday follows Tessa Jowell's assertion that her phone was tapped 28 times.

It puts renewed pressue on David Cameron's spin doctor Andy Coulson who edited the News of the World at the time of the scandal.

He has denied knowing anything about what some reporters on his paper were doing.
